Deanesfield School Notice Regarding Google GSuite for Education & Google Workspace for Education

At Deanesfield Primary school, we are using Google G Suite for Education, this will soon become known as Google Workspace for Education. Google G Suite for Education is a set of education productivity tools from Google that include Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Classroom, amongst many others. These are used by tens of millions of students and teachers around the world. An Education account means that data is not collected for advertising purposes and no adverts will appear whilst a pupil is using these tools . Students use their G Suite accounts to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers and learn 21st century digital citizenship skills.

This notice is to make you aware that these tools and services are in use in school, we consider them to be an essential tool to run the School in an efficient or effective manner.

We have to provide certain limited information to create accounts on the Google platform, here is a list of that information we share with Google:

• Forename

• Surname

• Date of birth

• Class (e.g. 2B, 5P etc)
