We are aware that eating a hot meal in the middle of the day improves energy levels and concentration. It also enables children the opportunity to widen their taste buds and try new foods. We are very lucky to have our own kitchen here at Deanesfield and our Nursery children are provided with the opportunity of accessing the variety of food options that our caterers have on offer. For the price of £2.25 per day we can guarantee that your child will be offered a hot meat or vegetarian meal along with a dessert. Fresh bread, salad, fruit and yogurt are also offered as a 'top-up' for children with slightly healthier appetites.
As we are a cashless school, all payments will need to be made via ParentPay where you will need to credit your child’s lunch account to ensure they are provided with a school meal. Please note that if your child is entitled to Pupil Premium, there will be no charge and your child will be provided a meal. If you need further information about your ParentPay account, please contact the School Office.
Parents accessing the 30 hour Nursery provision or purchase additional hours on top of the 15 hours funded childcare and staying at school for lunch, have the option to order school meals for their child. Parents will receive an 'Lunch Order' survey via Survey Monkey, giving parents the opportunity to select the daily meal choice for their child for the upcoming half term. The survey must be completed and submitted prior to each half term to ensure that the child receives the selected meal for each given day. Please check your e-mails (including your junk/spam folders) for this school correspondence.
If an order is not received, parents will need to ensure that a packed lunch is provided, but can request an order form for any subsequent weeks.
Further information, along with our weekly menus and allergens sheet, can be found on our 'Lunch Menus' page, under the 'Wider School Life tab.
If you have any further questions, then please speak to your child’s key worker.
