Dream, Believe, Achieve... And Make A Difference!

Week 4 - Week Beginning 27th April 2020

Year 2 Home Learning - Week 4 (27th April - 1st May)

Here are a list of suggested activities to get you started in your home learning this week.

Our theme of the week is SPORT!

  • Practise a sporting activity or movement. For example, star jumps, skipping, jumping, kick ups, throwing and catching a ball, hula hooping. What skills can you master or improve?
  • Count how many times you can complete different movements in one minute and record your results in a table. Can you show these results on a block diagram?
  • Complete three or more movements and order them from the highest number of movements to the lowest.
  • Research the sport Quidditch. Write a non-chronological report about this sport. (Or make your own sport!)
  • Research and write a set of instructions on how to play Tag Rugby.
  • Make your own fitness circuit. Come up with 5 different activities to do and complete these 10 times. Predict which one might take you the longest and which one you might complete the quickest. Record how long it takes you to complete each activity.
  • Write some sentences about why it is important to exercise.
  • Design your own Olympic Stadium. You may want to include a running track, a swimming pool, a field area and anything else of your choice.
  • Come up with your own dance routine.
  • Whilst running on the spot, recite your 2’s, 5’s and 10 times tables.
  • Research different sports from around the world. Can you record your findings in a creative way?
  • Sketch a picture of your favourite sport or physical activity.
  • Find out the names of different sports in Spanish. Can you make a ‘bingo’ game using the Spanish words and translations?

Spanish Home Learning

Learn about fruit in Spanish

[Spanish: Year 2] The Fruits

Practise your Spanish words for all the different fruits!

Computing home learning:

Have a look around your house and list all the things you can find that use technology.

How many can you find?

Which of these connect to the internet?

You could make a poster or a list.

I look forward to seeing them when we go back to school.

Religious Education (R.E.) home learning:

This term in RE, we are going to look at celebrations or Religious Festivals

What is your favourite celebration?

Draw a picture of your favourite celebration with lots of detail showing any decorations, what you did, what you ate and who was with you.

Why not have a go at labelling your picture?

Have fun!

From Mrs Westall

Music home learning:

Create a poster to show all the musical terminology you have learnt so far this year!

Make it as colourful and artistic as you can and try to find somewhere to display it in your home.

Fit in as many words as you can but don't worry if you don't have space for all of them.

The music powerpoint (see below) for this week will give you some clues to help you remember what all of the words mean.
