Dream, Believe, Achieve... And Make A Difference!

Week 2 - Week Beginning 30th March 2020

Reception Home Learning - Week 2 (30th March - 3rd April)

Hi Reception! We are all missing you lots but hope that you are having lots of fun at home whilst you are learning, playing and relaxing! Below there are many activities for you all to try this week as well as a suggested structured timetable. How many of the Bingo challenges will you be able to work through? There are also some extra activity ideas attached below the timetable if needed.

Your most important task for the week is to try to complete at least 5 acts of kindness. This can include laying the table for dinner, making someone in your family’s bed for them, tidying your room or even making someone laugh!

We cannot wait to hear all about your week!

Bingo Challenge Grid – How many boxes will you cross off?

Make some number cards with the numbers 0 – 10. Choose two cards and add them together. What can you use to help you?

Play the phase 3 Jolly Phonics song. Can you rainbow write each of the sounds using different coloured pens or pencils?

Can you make a repeating pattern with colours? Now try it with small toys or leaves and twigs or by sticking shapes on long pieces of paper. Can you use 3 different objects in your pattern?

Outside learning…

Do an observational drawing of a plant or tree. What will you use: pencils, paints, crayons?

Play a game of Simon Says with someone in your house. Remember to use the positional language star words e.g. up, down, under, above etc.

Put any number of objects in a jar or cup. You and the people in your house must estimate how many there are and then count to check. Who was closest? Try it again with different objects.

Draw and label a map for a magical kingdom. What will you include? Will there be a castle or maybe even a monster swamp?

he, she, we, me, be, my, was, they, her, all, are, you

Practice writing your tricky words in flour, salt, foam or using water and paintbrushes on the floor outside.

Experiment!

Put some water in a bottle. How can you freeze the water? Can you turn it into a liquid again? What changes have happened?

Complete a yoga session following a routine from YouTube. Search Cosmic Kids.

Play the phase 2 Jolly Phonics song. Can you write a word that starts with each of the sounds?

Make up a dance routine to your favourite song. Can you teach it to someone else in your family?

Finish this sentence.

The green alien…

Show Time!

Read one of your school reading books to someone in your house then act out the story using sock puppets.

Exercise Time! Complete a Joe Wicks Workout, which can be found on Joe Wicks YouTube channel.

Help an adult make your lunch- can you give instructions to make a sandwich?
