Weekly Grid Bingo!

 

Choose one activity for each topic every day. How many can you cross off by the end of the week?

 

Children can still use Mathletics, Reading Eggspress and Times Table Rockstars freely.

 

READING

Read out loud to yourself or someone at home for 20 minutes.

Challenge: Can you predict what will happen next?

Read something new, something online or a newspaper. Read your book and write down any unfamiliar words. Try to work out the definitions then look them up to check. Read your book to someone at home and have them ask you the questions from your organiser. Read a chapter of your book and find all the adjectives you can.

ENGLISH

Keep a diary across this week telling your teachers everything you have been up to.

Remember it is in chronological order and past tense.

Write a conversation between two people in your house.

Remember your speech sandwich "Goodnight," whispered Sam.

Challenge: Can you include an adverb to explain how they said it?

Create a playscript for your family to perform together. For example:

Mum:Come down for dinner.

Sam: (shouting) Okay mum!

Mum: (smiling) It's your favourite... spaghetti!

Create a spelling board game. Think about the spellings we have done.

e.g. homophones, suffixes ly, ing, ed, prefixes inter, auto, re, de.

MATHS

Practise your times tables- think of fun ways to learn them. Remember to include the inverse!!

Complete an activity on Mathletics about written methods of multiplication and division.

Create a tally chart to show the objects you can find around your house that are red, blue, green and yellow. 

Challenge: Show this in a bar chart. Remember a title and intervals.

 

Create your own word problems to include addition and subtraction of 3 digit numbers. Measure the heights of different people or objects in your house. Challenge: Put them in order from shortest to tallest (ascending order)

TOPIC & SCIENCE

Using the light and shadows, create a shadow puppet play with your hands. Can you include different animals and characters?

Challenge: Create this in a comic strip.

Go outside once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once before the sun goes down. Find a shadow, measure the length of it and note this down each time. What do you notice?
